What are your operating hours?

What dates are you closed?

Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth, and January maintenance days.

How can I purchase tickets?

  • Tickets can be purchased online or at our ticket office in the Garage on the day of your visit.
  • Please note: Library adventure/cultural passes cannot be redeemed online, library pass holders must present their pass at the ticket office in the Garage before entering the Mansion.

Do you offer discounted admission?

  • Pittock Mansion offers discounts for AAA members, active-duty military personnel and veterans, and is a proud participant of the Museums for All program that offers discounts for those who have food stamps through SNAP/EBT.
  • For discounted admission, please show proof of eligibility before purchasing tickets. Please note: discounts cannot be applied to online tickets, they must be purchased in person.

Do you offer group rates?

For discounted admission rates for groups larger than 15, please email the Senior Manager of Guest Experience at jabbey@pittockmansion.org.

Can I apply general admission tickets toward a membership?

Yes! If you enjoy your visit and would like to apply the cost of your ticket(s) to a membership, please visit the ticket office in the Garage or the Museum Store.

Do you offer refunds?

  • Refunds will not be issued for event or tour tickets if cancelled by the ticket holder. If you are unable to attend the event or tour that you have purchased a ticket for, the cost of the ticket may be applied toward an annual Pittock Mansion Society membership.
  • In the event of an unexpected closure, visitors may request a full refund or use their tickets on an alternate date.

Your Visit

Is parking available onsite?

Parking may be limited during high-traffic seasons (June-August and November-December). We recommend alternative means of transportation, including carpooling, ride sharing, or hiking trails, or downloading the City of Portland’s Parking Kitty mobile app before your arrival.

Do you offer guided tours?

Pittock Mansion admission is self-guided and does not currently offer a daily guided house tour. Behind-the-Scenes Tours and Architecture Tours are offered on select weekends from March-November. Please see our events calendar for dates.

What are your rules of conduct?

  • In order to maintain the preservation of the Mansion and its artifacts, we require guests obey all guidelines set forth by the Pittock Mansion Society. This includes refraining from:
    • Possessing weapons of any kind
    • Smoking or vaping
    • Removing clothing or shoes
    • Eating, drinking, or chewing gum beyond the Foyer
    • Touching, opening, or sitting on objects without permission
    • Going into designated staff-only areas
    • Operating the elevator without permission
    • Using electrical outlets for personal devices
    • Engaging in roughhousing while inside the Mansion
  • Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in expulsion from the museum without a refund. Pittock Mansion staff members reserve the right to ask visitors to leave at any time.

Can I tour Pittock Mansion with a stroller?

Due to limited space within the Mansion, we do not recommend bringing strollers. If you would like to check your stroller for the duration of your visit, please inform a Pittock Mansion staff member upon your arrival. Stroller check is available on a first come, first served basis.

Can I bring backpacks/luggage?

  • Large backpacks and luggage are not permitted inside the Mansion and may be checked with the Guest Experience staff upon arrival. During peak seasons, space may be limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not recommend leaving luggage or valuables in your car.
  • Please note that Pittock Mansion staff are not permitted to handle personal items, including but not limited to cameras and cell phones (including charging cell phones for visitors).

Is Pittock Mansion wheelchair accessible?

Pittock Mansion is partially accessible for visitors with mobility needs. Our original 1914 elevator is staff-operated and can accommodate manual wheelchairs only, and visitors are welcome to borrow a manual wheelchair for the duration of their visit. Two standard-sized wheelchairs are available on a first come, first served basis and are not guaranteed. Please note that Pittock Mansion staff are not permitted to assist with transferring into a manual wheelchair or those entering or exiting the elevator.

 

Are unaccompanied minors permitted in Pittock Mansion?

  • An adult must accompany all visitors under the age of 16.
  • Parents must supervise children at all times to ensure that they follow all museum guidelines. Staff members are not responsible for supervising unaccompanied children and those who fail to adhere to the guidelines may be asked to leave.

 

Do you allow pets?

Pittock Mansion welcomes service animals. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines service animals as dogs or miniature horses who are “individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.” Animals who only provide emotional support (ESAs) and no other trained function are not recognized as service animals by the ADA and therefore are not permitted in the Mansion.

Can I take photos?

  • Visitors are welcome to take photos of the interior of Pittock Mansion as well as casual commemorative photos of each other. Photoshoot-style photography of any form is not permitted. Tripods, monopods, and other self-standing photo equipment are not allowed inside the Mansion. Any photography or activity that interferes with visitors’ safety or experience will not be allowed.
  • Visitors seeking to use the Mansion as a backdrop or “set” for portrait or artistic photography or as a set for a film must submit a commercial photography or film request. All commercial and film requests are subject to approval, include facility rental fees, and must take place outside of normal hours of operation. Do you have refreshments onsite?

Pittock Mansion does not have a cafe or restaurant onsite. Light snacks are available for purchase in Pittock Mansion’s Museum Store. Please enjoy your food/beverages before entering the museum. For a list of nearby restaurants, please visit Travel Portland’s website.

Can I purchase merchandise?

A visit to Pittock Mansion would not be complete without stopping in the Pittock Mansion Museum Store. Our Museum Store is located in the Garage building and offers items including period-inspired men’s and women’s accessories, décor, toys and games, history books, and holiday decorations.

General Questions

Can I host a private event or photoshoot at Pittock Mansion?

Pittock Mansion is a historic house museum and has limited private event opportunities. Pittock Mansion is not available to rent for weddings. Event requests can be emailed to Lauren Hasenmiller at lhasenmiller@pittockmansion.org.

How do I request a donated items?

Pittock Mansion is currently honoring a limited amount of donation requests in support of fundraising for local nonprofits and schools. Please use the Donation Request Form to submit your request.

How do I donate an object to your collection?

To inquire about donating an object to our collection, please email our Department of Curatorial Affairs and Collections at collections@pittockmansion.org.

How can I volunteer?
