Home for the Holidays at Portland’s Favorite Home: Pittock Mansion
Pittock Mansion launches this year’s holiday special, bringing the Holiday Classics to life
PORTLAND, ORE, November 18, 2024 – It’s that time of the year again when one can step into the magic of the season at Portland’s favorite historical home, Pittock Mansion. Experience the warmth, wonder, and nostalgia of timeless holiday stories and traditions, beautifully brought to life throughout the incredible rooms of the Mansion and the charming Gate Lodge.
Pittock Mansion’s Home for the Holidays with this year’s theme, Holiday Classics will be on view November 18, 2024, through January 9, 2025 (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day). The Mansion is open daily 10am–4pm, opening at noon on Tuesdays. Timed tickets for Pittock Mansion are available at pittockmansion.org. Admission is $17 for adults, $15 for seniors, $13 for youth. Children 5 and under are free. Admission includes access to the mansion, the Gate lodge and the Georgiana Pittock and the City of Roses exhibit. Due to very limited parking visitors are strongly encouraged to carpool or use ride share.

The grandeur of the mansion is beautifully blended with the warmth of the holiday decorations, giving the feeling of coming home for the holidays. We are extremely grateful to our volunteers who bring the mansion to life every year,” said Paula Gangopadhyay, Chief Executive Officer, Pittock Mansion Society. “Due to the grand success of the event last year, we have expanded the duration from five to eight weeks this year and added the Gate Lodge for enhanced visitor experience.” she added.
With over 75 volunteers pouring their creativity and passion into decorating several rooms in the mansion and the Gate Lodge, visitors will be treated to a heart-warming holiday showcase. This year’s decorations around the Holiday Classics theme provide glimpses of a variety of holiday celebrations such as A Christmas Tea Party, A White Christmas, A Tropical Christmas, A Tribute to the Royal Women of Versailles, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Holiday Bridal Bunch, A Hawaiian Christmas, Classic French Christmas Eve and more. On select weekends, Santa will be delighting visitors and live musicians, and choir performances will add to the holiday mirth. Visitors are encouraged to check the event calendar on the website for Santa and musical performance schedules. The museum store showcasing a variety of merchandise will add to the holiday-shopping fun.

The Pittock Campus houses three historic buildings: the 1914 Mansion which was the home of the Pittock family, the Gate Lodge, the home of the estate keeper, and the Garage, home of the chauffeur. Hours: July through October: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. November through June: 10 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Sunday. Opens at 12 noon on Tuesday.
