Do you know that maintaining the Pittock Mansion is a citizen-driven endeavor? The Pittock Mansion Society, made up of citizens entrusted with the mansion’s upkeep and care, is self-governing and self fund-raising. Besides helping to preserve the Pittock Mansion, your donations support many wonderful activities, including:
- Our Discovery educational program, offered to all schoolchildren regardless of a school’s ability to pay;
- Free admission for nonprofit groups that serve underprivileged children, adults and families such as White Shield Home and The DePaul Center;
- Seasonal/rotating exhibits, which facilitate ongoing, educational opportunities (Examples: recent exhibits of vintage jewelry and Maxfield Parrish illustrations);
- Constant maintenance to ensure the safety and accessibility of the vast mansion, expansive gardens and surrounding nature trails.
Your donations also help boost the local economy by supporting a prominent tourist attraction.
Endowment Fund
Another way to support the mansion is to contribute to the Pittock Mansion Endowment Fund, which was established to ensure there will always be a Pittock Mansion for the public to enjoy.
Volunteer
For those who are inclined to give the gift of time, we have many ways to volunteer:
- Bring the Pittock stories to life by leading guided tours either at the Mansion or the Gate Lodge.
- Assist staff in the non-profit museum store where all funds raised go directly to support Pittock Mansion programs.
- Get into the true seasonal spirit by decking out the mansion’s halls with lush holiday decorations.
- Special occasions also arise for volunteer opportunities, including events, exhibits and fund-raising opportunities.
